With over 30 years’ experience, Santova is perfectly positioned to handle all import and/or export Full Container Load (FCL) requirements. Our global volumes and relationships with key carriers allows us to ensure that various options are always available regardless of equipment, capacity and timing requirements.

Once a solution is determined our expert team will then manage your shipment from start to finish, providing you with complete visibility from origin to destination.

Less than Container Load (LCL)

Servicing all major destination/origin ports, our Less than a Container Load  (LCL) services are an ideal solution for customers importing or exporting smaller shipments. Allow our dedicated ocean freight team to find the most direct, cost effective solution for you.

Cross Trade

With the rapid growth of international trade, the ability to move cargo directly between two countries, without the cargo coming into the UK, on a cross trade basis is becoming ever more important. Allow our team of experts to advise on best fit solutions tailored to your specific business needs.

Below are details of all the different Sea Freight containers for various types of cargo.

Dry containers 20′ and 40′ (general purpose) are manufactured from either aluminium or steel. They are suitable for most types of cargo. Aluminium dry containers have a slightly larger payload than steel, and steel dry containers have a slightly larger internal cube.

High cube dry containers ensure that you gain an extra foot in height compared with dry containers. The high cube dry containers are ideal for light, voluminous or bulky cargo. These extra volume containers are made in 40′ and 45′ sizes in steel and aluminium.

Reefer containers or refrigerated containers are used to transport goods requiring temperature-controlled conditions in transit, such as fruit, vegetables, dairy products and meat. It is fitted with a refrigeration unit which is connected to the carrying ship’s electrical power supply.

Open top containers have an open top covered by a tarpaulin instead of a solid roof. This enables oversized cargo such as timber and scrap metal to be loaded from the top. Open top containers normally have end doors to give flexibility to loading and discharging operations.

Flat rack containers are especially suitable for heavy loads and cargo that needs loading from the top or sides, such as pipes and machinery. You will find collapsible containers and non-collapsible containers with or without walls. Flat rack containers are manufactured from steel and come in 20′ and 40′ sizes.

Garments on hangers (GOH) containers give customers the option of using a string or bar system, or a combination of both.
